Across his career Martin has built the widest range of experience in the performing arts sector, from working in large-scale receiving houses to working with independent producing companies, travelling internationally and creating intimate theatre in rural venues. Largely, Martin’s background has been community based – working on site-specific pieces of work, small-scale touring, pop-up theatre, community engagement projects, children’s theatre shows and working alongside amateur and youth theatre companies.

Martin has sat on the board of local arts charities for a number of years and is passionate about remaining connected to his roots in the North-East of Scotland and nurturing the local professional arts scene.


Having worked in the arts for over 10 years, Martin is keen utilise his skills and experience to help tell untold stories and make meaningful work.

At the moment Martin is working as Creative Producer for Open Road Ltd and the Fittie Community Development Trust on their project ‘Safe Harbour: Open Sea’ which forms part of the Culture Collective programme of events happening around Scotland.

Stage and Production Management

With extensive experience in Stage and Production Management, Martin showcases excellent interpersonal skills, exceptional organisational skills and a wealth of knowledge about the arts sector which supports his holistic and needs-driven approach.

With proven skills in budgeting and scheduling, Martin is also well-versed in calling shows as a Deputy Stage Manager and has a particular passion for lighting and AV.

Set Design & Stage Carpentry

Martin has designed and built sets for a wide range of plays, musicals and contemporary theatre performances. In particular, Martin specialises in unique, multi-purpose set pieces which integrate seamlessly into the action of a piece.
